If you have researched Doula care you will know that there is a great disparity in qualifications, experience, expertise and fees. WHY CHOOSE LUCINA? WHAT CAN LUCINA DOULAS OFFER YOU? Lucina Doulas has an experienced NY State Board Certified RN who has a BS in Hospital Administration, is Lamaze International certified and DONA certified. I have been an OB/GYN nurse for 20 years and Lamaze Educator for 15 years. When you contract me you get unlimited access to answering all your questions and giving you support. I work on a rotating schedule so you may have me as your Doula or one of my carefully chosen Doulas. I have been extremely selective about my choice of Doulas. They have to meet my high standards and I update them monthly with "evidence based" research on childbirth practices. In the metro NY area private Doulas with lesser credentials command fees between $600-1600. Since Lucina Doulas work on a rotating basis you are getting the benefit of much lower fees. You may find a less expensive Doula; however, will she be able to give you what Lucina Doulas can? All Lucina Doulas are certified by DONA. (Doulas of North America) or working towards certification. DONA sets the highest standards of practice for Doulas. We seek to provide you with the highest quality Doula care. Birth is an unforgettable experience for women.
